| Where types of stitch, machine speeds, and methods of application differ as widely as in the knitting machinery, a knitting oil is demanded that will provide excellent lubricity as well as a number of other important properties. The outstanding additive package included in Gulfknit oils makes them ideal for every type of knitting operation, circular double-knit machines as well as circular single-knit, full-fashion, tricot, and the others. It is an additive package composed of seven different exceptionally effective agents: a solvent, a lubricity agent, a corrosion resistor, an antioxidant, an emulsifier, an antifogger and an antistatic agent. Gulfknit needle oils are outstanding in their corrosion and rust-preventive properties. The antioxidant in the Gulfknit oil prevents high temperature oil oxidation that produces gum and varnish build-up on needles and other machine parts. The solvent helps to prevent the accumulation of gum and yarn finishing materials which would interfere with the proper operation of needle cylinders and knitting needles, particularly the latch type. An oiliness agent compensates for the slight loss of lubricity which results from the addition of the solvent. These products are light colored and they contain an effective emulsifying agent to improve their scourability, and, in fact, to permit complete removal of the oil when fabrics are washed in hot tap water. Gulfknit needle oils will not interfere with proper dyeing and will not stain fabric unless heat set before scouring. As most knitting machines are equipped with air mist lubricating systems, fogging is a common problem. Gulfknit needle oils are formulated with an antifog agent which increases the oil mist reclassification efficiency, reducing not only the amount of visible stray fog, but oil consumption as well. Use of Gulfknit needle oils along with proper adjustment of the oil feed and air pressure in the oil mist generator eliminates fogging in most cases. | ||||||||||||||||
| Gulfknit needle oils also help solve the problem of static charge build-up. Besides affecting fabric manageability, static charges can cause dropped stitches by interrupting the delicate timing cycles of needle latch openings. To prevent this, Gulfknit needle oils contain a small amount of very effective antistatic agent. | ||||||||||||||||
