General Qualities & Characteristics

Gulfgear MT is a new generation automotive gear lubricant meeting the new American Petroleum Institute specifications of API MT-1 and the U.S. Military specification of MIL-PRF-2105E.

Gulfgear MT is predominantly recommended for use in manual transmissions of buses and heavy-duty trucks primarily, in North America.  This oil can also be used in the synchronized manual transmissions and trans-axles in passenger-cars and other heavy-duty applications.  The use of Gulfgear MT provides better protection against thermal degradation, component wear, and oil-seal deterioration, than the previously available commercial oils meeting GL-4 and GL-5 specifications.
Gulfgear MT is available in two multi-grade viscosities, SAE 80W90 and SAE 85W140. Because of intelligent use of high quality base oils, these oils do not contain shear-breaking viscosity index improvers and hence does not lose  viscosity (thickness) while in use. Gulfgear MT also meets the specifications of the new Mack Engine Co. specification of Mack GO-H in addition to the proposed category PG-2.
