General Qualities & Characteristics |
|
Gulf Universal Brake Fluid is a high quality FMVSS DOT4, brake and clutch fluid which has been blended from superior quality synthetic materials to provide a boiling point in excess of 260°C. It may be used in all passenger cars, commercial vehicles and motor-cycles made in the UK, USA, Europe and Japan where an FMVSS DOT3 or DOT4 fluid is specified. It mixes safely with other DOT3 or DOT4 fluids but cannot be used in certain Citroen or other vehicles requiring a special mineral oil based fluid. |
| Gulf Universal Brake Fluid is formulated specially to provide lower moisture absorption than conventional DOT4 brake fluids, thereby maintaining the fluids' high boiling point and is specially inhibited to ensure long term protection against rust and corrosion together with additives to provide the correct degree of seal swelling. |
| Performance Specifications |
| Gulf Universal Brake Fluid may be used with confidence in all brake, clutch or servo systems used in a wide range of vehicles where the following current performance levels are specified, SAE J 1703 (April 88), FMVSS 116 DOT3 and DOT4, JIS K 2233 Class 4, ISO 4925, VV-B-680B. |
| It also meets the requirements of earlier specifications: SAE 70 R1 and R3, SAE J 70C, J 1703A up to SAE J 1703F, SAE J 1703 JAN 80, Nov. 83 and Oct. 85. |
| Brake and clutch systems should be drained, flushed and refilled with fresh fluid at intervals recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. |
| Application Requirements |
| WARNING: Brake failure can be caused by contamination of brake fluid with gasoline, diesel fuel or engine oil. Always use a separate clean container for dispensing Gulf Universal Brake Fluid. |
| Brake fluid can damage vehicle paintwork and any spillage should be removed immediately. |
