General Qualities & Characteristics

GULF TRANSFORMER OIL AO SERIES  are highly refined, non-inhibited, partly-naphthenic transformer oil of good oxidation stability and high dielectric strength, designed to meet the British Standard and related specifications for electrical insulating oil. Meets the British Standard BS 148:1984 Class 1, International Electrotechnical Commission Standard IEC 296 (1982) Class 1 and Australian Standard AS1767-1975 specification12463s and BS. It meets the requirements of ASTM D 3487 Type I “Mineral Insulating Oil Used in Electrical Apparatus”. These oils are recommended for oil-immersed transformers and other arc-forming apparatus such as switches, circuit breakers, oil filled capacitors, tap changers, electrical reclosures and fuses. They may also be used in applications requiring low viscosity, low pour point, high flash point quality naththenic mineral oils. Moisture content is kept minimum and special refining steps are used to insure that oil soluble current carrying components are removed from the crude stocks.

Recommendations
Recommended for electrical insulating oil applications such as transformers and oil-immersed switchgear where an oil meeting the BSI, IEC, AS or other comparable specification for electrical insulating oil is required by the equipment manufacturer or user.
GULF TRANSCREST H/ HD and TRANSFORMER OIL N SERIES  do not contain polychlorinated byphenyls (PCBs)

Product Maintenance
Dryness and cleanliness are critical to the performance of all Transformer Oils. Containers should be stored in protected areas so that moisture does not collect on the top. Never leave open containers standing for long periods.
