General Qualities & Characteristics

Gulf Motor Oil is a good quality diesel engine crankcase oil formulated with high quality paraffinic base stocks, detergents, dispersants, oxidation and corrosion inhibitors, antiwear and antifoam additives. The resulting oils meet or exceed the requirements of API Service Classifications CB and SC. They meet the requirements of many engine makers around the world.
 
Application Requirements
Gulf Motor Oil is suitable for use in older or tighter duty diesel engines for which API CB, CA or lower performance level motor oils  are specified and superchargers or turbochargers may be fitted. Many high speed diesel engines do not require oils beyond API CB, particularly if operated under light duty conditions. Gulf Motor Oil provides low engine wear and good durability.
 
Recommendations
Gulf Motor Oil may be recommended for high-speed diesel engines in vehicles and stationary use where the manufacturer requires an oil of API CB performance level or below and where operating conditions are relatively mild. Gulf Motor Oil is suitable for use in such diesel engines in over-the-road, off-highway, contractor equipment and stationary service. Gulf Motor Oil may be recommended for older diesel engines running under mild conditions. Such conditions often prevail in long distance trucking or stationary engines under light to moderate loads in warm or temperate climates.
The excellent antiwear properties and low pour point of Gulf Motor Oil make this grade especially beneficial for use in hydraulic systems of old mobile equipment where an SAE 10W oil is required.
